Abstract

1587 kyl isothiocyanates and the conversion of w-methylthioalkyl isothiocyanates to these compounds. Figure 1 shows a gas chromatogram of the volatile compounds in the ether extract of stems of wasabi. Among the main compounds (peaks 1-15), twelve were identified, the other three compounds (peaks 10, 11 and 13) being unidentified at the time.
