Abruslactone A, a new triterpenoid sapogenin isolated from the roots and vines of Abrus precatorius L., has been characterized by spectral and X-ray analysis as the y-lactone of 3P,22a-dihydroxy-olean-I 2-en-29a-oic acid, with ring E in an unusual boat conformation. ...
