The conversion of N-fluoriminonitrilea la, b, and c into imidates and a-fluorimino esters is reported. Grignard reagents and the fluoriminonitriles give both cleavage and fluorine- substitution reactions. The nitrile function of fluoriminonitriles will participate in lJ3-dipolar cycloaddition with 2, 4, 6-trimethylbenzonitrile oxide.
