Abstract

The Mössbauer spectroscopic parameters of Fe (N CtBu2) 4 and Fe (1-norbornyl) 4 feature low isomer shifts, in line with their 4+ oxidation-state assignments. Consistent with its high oxidation state, Fe (N CtBu2) 4 is readily reduced upon reaction with acetylacetone, forming Fe (acac)(N CtBu2) 2 along with the products of ketimide ligand oxidation.
