Abstract

Thermal electrocyclization methodology has been widely used for the synthesis of carbazole based natural products. 4, 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g and 4h Mohanakrishnan and Srinivasan outlined a versatile synthesis of quino[4,3-b]carbazoles involving electrocyclization of stable N-phenylsulfonyl-2,3-divinylindoles as key step. 5 Very recently synthesis of several multi functional carbazoles is reported 6, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, 6f and 6g involving either cycloaddition or ...
