ABSTRACT The preparation of six trinucleus dimethine cyanine dyes with pyridine nucleus obtained by the condensation of trimethylpyridinium iodides with heterocyclic aromatic aldehyde was described. The absorption and fluorescence properties of the dyes were studied in different polarity solvents.
