Kinetic studies have been made of the solvolysis (mainly the methanolysis) of the highly sterically hindered compounds TsiSiMeOClO [Tsi=(MeSi) C],(MeSi)(PhMeSi) CSiMeOClO, TsiSiHPhX (X= I, Br, ONO), and TsiSiHMel. The rate of methanolysis of TsiSiMeOClO is
