Abstract The redox reaction between iodoboranes and disulfanes leads to thioboranes of the composition RSBX 2,(RS) 2 BX and (RS) 3 B in very good yields. The compounds of the type RSBX 2 show different thermal and hydrolytical stability and degree of association depending on the substituents R and X.
