Abstract

Substituted pyrimidines(1) are a diverse class of heterocycles found not only in a wide variety of natural products(2) but also as building blocks for a number of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) present in prominent commercial drugs such as Crestor, Gleevec, and Aggrenox.
