A number of mixed trialkyl phosphites were prepared by reaction of the appropriate mono-or dialkyl chlorophosphite and alcohol in an inert solvent in the presence of N, N- dimethylaniline. Reaction of these mixed trialkyl phosphites with acetic acid at 125'resulted in formation of a mixture of acetate esters and dialkyl phosphites.
