Abstract

Method E. 2-Aminoacetamido-3-o-bromobenzoyl-5-ethylthiophene (64). Ammonia gas was introduced, with ice cooling, to a solution of 56 (20 g, 0.042 mol) in CHCl,(50 ml) and MeOH (5 ml) during 2 hr. After stirring at room temperature for additional 2 hr, the mixture was washed with ice-water and NaHCO, solution, successively, dried (Na, SO,), and then concentrated under reduced pressure.
