Abstract Nine 4, 5-dihydro-1, 2, 4-oxadiazoles, 2a-i, were synthesized by the reaction of benzamidoximes, 1a-i, with aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes. None of these compounds were encountered in the literature. The ultraviolet, infrared and proton magnetic resonance spectral studies supported the cyclic structure.
