Abstract Regio-, stereo-, and chemoselective halofluorination of alkenes is achieved using N- haloamides and tetrabutylammonium dihydrogentrifluoride, and the resulting FI adducts were successfully converted into fluoroalkenes under dehydroiodination with 1, 8- diazabicyclo [5.4. 0] undec-7-ene.
