Abstract

Five tridentate ligands, bis (N-methylbenzimidazolyl) benzene, bis (N-methylbenzimidazolyl) pyridine, 1, 3-di-2-pyridylbenzene, 4, 6-dimethyl-1, 3-di-2-pyridylbenzene, and 2, 2′: 6′, 2 ″-terpyridine, were used to construct a series of bis-tridentate cyclometalated or noncyclometalated ruthenium complexes,[RuL1L2] n+(L1, L2= tridentate ligand; n= 1 or 2).
