Abstract The methanolysis kinetics has been measured of 1-(2, 6-difluorobenzoyl)-3-(4- chlorophenyl) urea (a larvicidal insecticide Dimilin) and of four other mono-and dihalogenobenzoyl derivatives. Polar and steric effects of halogen on the rate and dissociation constants is discussed.
