Abstract

The oxidation of cyclic tertiary allylic alcohols, generated by the 1, 2 addition of organometallic reagents to cud-unsaturated cyclic ketones, with pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC) affords transposed 3-alkyl a $-unsaturated ketones in excellent yield.
