Abstract

Results Irradiation of a 0.05 M solution of 2, 2'-divinylbiphenyl (l) in benzene with a 450-W Hanovia lamp equipped with a Pyrex filter for 3 h gave a mixture of two products isomeric with starting material. The two isomers could be separated by preparative gas chromatography and are assigned structures 2 and 3 on the basis of their spectral data.
