Abstract

Results and Discussion The optimum solvent and ratio of reagents were investigated by using 4-phenylacetophenone as substrate. Dichloromethane was found to be the solvent of choice. Reduction of Cphenylacetophenone to 4-ethylbiphenyl was complete in 1 h at room temperature.
