Abstract Complete proton and carbon NMR assignments were made for five 2-(2-X-phenyl) thiophenes (X= NH 2, NO 2, COOH, Br), four 2, 5-diphenylheterocycles (thiophene, furan and N-methyl-and N-phenylpyrrole) and N-phenylpyrrole using HETCOR, COSY, XCORFE and, in one case, NOESY 2D NMR techniques.
