Polynitroethyl ethers were prepared by nitration of the corresponding oximes. Thus, nitration of (2-fluoro-2, 2-dinitroethoxy) acetaldoxime followed by oxidation of the nitroso intermediate yielded 2-fluoro-2, 2-dinitroethyl 2, Bdinitroethyl ether (1). Fluorination and chlorination of 1 yielded bis (2-fluoro-2, Pdinitroethyl) and Zchloro-2, 2-dinitroethyl Zfluoro-2, 2-dinitroethyl ether, respectively.
