Studies have been carried out on the relationship betweeu the structure, surface activity, capacity to form micelles, and antimicrobial activity in these compounds. The fungistatic and bacteriological activity shown in Table 1 shows that antimicrobial activity increases as the length of the alkyl radical is increased, and is dependent on the structure and charge on the principal group in the compound.
