Abstract Our interest in the cyclization of allenic sulfones and sulfinates was aroused by previous studies on the [2, 3] sigmatropic rearrangement of allylic sulfenates and sulfinates to sulfoxides and sulfones, respectively (eqs. 1, 2) as well as by the analocrous rearranCement of proparoylic sulfenates and sulfinates to allenic sulfoxides and sulfones, respectively (e7s. 3, 4).
