In a study of the biological effect of analogs of the naturally occurring amino acids, D, La- aminocyclopropylacetic acid was synthesized. It was prepared by a Strecker synthesis from cyclopropanecarboxaldehyde. The intermediate hydroxynitrile was aminated in methanolic ammonia.
