Abstract

Abstract The kinetics of transient absorption changes for a number of protoheme-ligand systems after subpicosecond photolysis have been investigated. When the photolyzed ligand is tert-butyl, pentachlorophenyl, pentafluorophenyl, Sa-cholestan-3a-y1, or 5a- cholestan-3b-yl isocyanide or 1-methylimidazole, a concentration-independent relaxation is observed.
