Abstract

Abstract An efficient synthesis of R 3 Si (CH 2) 3 CH [C (O) Me] 2 3 [R= Me, OR′] is described. The reaction of R 3 Si (CH 2) 3 Cl 2 with the sodium of potassium salt of acetylacetonate (1) and 0.8–2 equivalents of NaI of KI in DMF, DMSO or NMP as a solvent gives the C-and O-alkylation products R 3 Si (CH 2) 3 CH [C (O) Me] 2 3 and R 3 Si (CH 2) 3 OC (Me)[DOUBLE BOND] CH [BOND] C (O) Me 4 in a 3: 1 ratio and a 60–70% total yield. ...
