Abstract

Among the numerous derivatives of American cedarwood oil which are utilized in perfumery is a ketonic mixture obtained by the acetylation of the hydrocarbon fractions of this oil with acetic anhydride or acetyl chloride and catalysts such as zinc chloride, aluminum chloride, or boron trifluoride.
