Abstract Dodecafluorocycloheptene and ethanolic potassium hydroxide afforded 1- ethoxyundecafluorocycloheptene which at 410 C decomposed to decafluorocyclohept-2- enone. Decafluorohepta-l, 3-diene likewise gave mainly 1-ethoxynona-fluoro-, together with some 1, 4-diethoxyoctafluoro-cyclohepta-1, 3-diene.
