Abstract

The reactions of 7, 7-dichlorobicyclo-[4.1. 0] heptane, 1 with organic bases were carried out in benzene and THF. The reaction course of 1 in nonpolar media is different from that in DMSO; the rearrangements of cyclopropene 3 taking place in the former. 8 is produced by the shift of double bond into the C6 ring.
