Abstract

4a, i-dimethyl-2-phenanthrol] bis (ethylenediamine) co-balt (3+) trichloride@-acetate (ester), IIIa, was produced in 60y0 yield. The ir and nmr spectra of IIIa were consistent with the assigned structure. Ir maxima reported to be characteristic of Co-N bonds were pre~ ent.~ All elemental analyses for I& were within experimental error.
