Abstract The usefulness of 13 C nmr spectroscopy in the tautomeric assignment of 5- (monosubstituted)-amino-1, 2, 3, 4-thiatriazoles is demonstrated. The reaction products, derived therefrom by alkylation, acylation and sulfonylation, are also readily characterized by an inspection of the 13 C 5 signal shift.
