Abstract:(1-Bromomethy1ene) cyclopropane (S),(1-bromo-1-methylmethy1ene) cyclopropane (9),(l-bromo-l-phenylmethy1ene) cyclopropane (lo), and (1-bromo-1- cyclopropylmethylene) cyclopropane (11) are synthesized, and their solvolysis rates and the resulting products in various solvents are determined. The relative rates (krel) in 80% ethanol (100') are: 8, kiel= 1; 9, krel= 1 x lo3; 10, krel= 2.5 x lo3; 11, krel= 1 X IO5. The ...
