Abstract A series of anionic monoorgano-pentahalogenostannate (IV) complexes, M+ 2 [RSnX 5] 2−, where M= K+, Me 4 N+, Et 4 N+ or MePPh 3+; X= F, Cl or Br; R= Bu, Ph or R′ OCOCH 2 CH 2 (R′= Me or Et), has been prepared and these compounds have been studied by 119m Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy.
