Abstract

The synthesis of Ni (II) and Pd (II) cyclophane-based α-diimine olefin polymerization catalysts bearing a range of electron-donating or-withdrawing groups is described. Substituent effects were confirmed by measurement of CO infrared stretching frequencies in Pd (II) carbonyl complexes.
