Abstract

A series of trimethylphenylalkylammonium compounds has been prepared and examined for antiacetylcholinesterase activity, The results indicate that quaternary ammonium compounds in which the quaternized nitrogen atom is adjacent to an aromatic ring are more active than those in which the quaternary ammonium group is removed from the benzene ring and is of the aliphatic type.
