Various 2, 2, 3-triaryIpropyl compounds were prepared and evaluated in rats for cholesterol lowering activity. The 2, 2, 3-triarylpropionitriles were found to have marked hypocliolesterolemic activity at low dosage levels. A discussion of the preparation, nmr spectra, and pharmacology of these compounds is presented.
