Abstract

Publications appeared in the middle of the 20th cen- tury describing the isolation and structure elucidation of triterpenoids of the olean-18(19)-ene series, morolic acid (I) and its derivatives, from the tree Mora excelsa [1]. Later, moronic acid (II), an oxo derivative of morolic acid, had been isolated from plants of the spe- cies Rhus javanica [2], Brazilian propolis [3], and from the above ground parts of the medicinal plant Phorad- endron reichenbachianum ( ...
