Abstract

Earlier publications from these laboratories have reported two related transformations: the salicylidenethiolactone2-'and the benzylidene-thiolactone rearrangement~.~.~ T o date the benzylidene-thiolactone rearrangement has been applied only to aromatic aldehydes and thianaphthen-2-one.
