Abstract

Abstract A simple, fast, efficient and basic method for synthesis of symmetrical 4H-pyran-4- one carboxaldehyde derivatives from 2, 6-dimethyl-3, 5-diphenyl-4H-pyran-4-one derivative has been reported. The reaction time is effectively reduced from 72 h to 1 min with the yield increase over 30%.
