The reaction of polyfluorinated ketones with chlorofluoromethylenetriphenylphosphorane,( CeH5) gP= CFCl, generated in situ from sodium dichlorofluoroacetate and triphenylphosphine, provides a general, one-step route to a-substituted 1-chloroperfluoro olefins. The p substituent can either be an aryl or alkyl group. The reaction of this ylide with several typical aldehydes and ketones was also briefly studied. The proposed mechanism ...
