Abstract

The introduction of aryl groups into the nucleus of resorcinol leads to compounds showing a very pronounced germicidal actiom2 It has been shown that of the three aryl groups, Viz., benzyl, phenylethyl and phenylpropyl, the introduction of the second produces the most active aryl derivative of resorcinol, the phenol coefficient of which was reported as being 41, against B. typhosus. a
