The Jacobsen reaction of iodopseudocumenes and related compounds was investigated. Both 3-and 5-iodopseudocumenes gave essentially the same product which consisted of 3, 5-diiodopseudocumene (VI, 53%), 3, 6-diiodopseudocumene (VII, 44%) and 5, 6- diiodopseudocumene (VIII, 3%).
