Abstract: Isolation of 2-heneicosyl-6-(3-methylpentyl) tetrahydropy~ an and 2-(9- methylundecyl)-6-pentadecyltet-rahydropyran as products of a reductive degradation sequence from rimocidin has proved the presence of oxygen functions at C-5, C-9, C-11, and C-15 in the antibiotic.
