Abstract

The condensation of anions derived from (phenylthio)(tri-n-butylstannyl)(trimethylsily1) methane (2a), tert-butyl (tri-n-butybtannyl)(trimethylsilyllacetate (2b), and (tri-n-butylstannyl)( trimethylsilyl) methane (2c) with carbonyl compounds was used to compare the Peterson and tin eliminations. In all cases, the silicon moiety was eliminated to give the vinylstannane 4.
