Abstract

For example, 2-(p-methoxyphenyl)-3-ethyl-6-methoxyindene (V) may, theoretically, be derived from 4, 4'-dimethoxy-a-rnethyl-~-ethylstilbene by ring closure between the methyl group and a phenyl ring.
