Abstract

Results The method consists in heating the pyrimidine, suspended in an inert solvent such as tetralin, with an excess (commonly about 3 parts by weight) of phosphorus pentasulfide. The temperature and time of heating are varied somewhat depending on the nature of the compound to be thiated.
