Abstract 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra are reported for several pyridylamides and thionamides. Complete analyses of the 13 C spectra have yielded the chemical shifts and the direct and long range (13 C, 1 H) coupling constants. 13 C chemical shifts show linear relationship with charge densities computed by the CNDO method. The variations in the chemical shifts are discussed.
