Abstract

The benzimidazole derivatives which we have tested as potential radioprotectants may be divided into two types. The first type comprises strong reducing agents, namely the hydride donors [2, 3] 1, 3-dimethylbenzimidazoline [2, 4, 5](I) and 1, 3-dimethyl-2- phenylbenzimidazoline [6, 7](II).
