A number of derivatives of phenyl 2, 4, 6-triisopropylphenyl ketone have been prepared which have substituents in the p-position of the phenyl group. The derivatives having methoxyl, cyano and acetoxyl groups suffer displacement of these groups when treated with t-butylmagnesium chloride, the product in each case being pt-butylphenyl 2, 4, 6- triisopropylphenyl ketone.
