The use of pentenyl and thiophenyl glycosides of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) as glycosyl donors for the direct preparation of O-glycosides of GlcNAc promoted by N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) and metal triflates in dichloromethane has been investigated.
