Abstract: Isocyanides polymerize under the catalytic activity of Ni (I1) to the corresponding poly (is0cyanides): nRN+= C-E& [RN= C<],. The polymers are of the rigid-rod type, and their molecules have a helical configuration as a result of hindered rotation in their carbon main chains.
